RUTHMANN GmbH & Co KG is a modern and innovative aerial platform and utility vehicle organization that successfully operates on a national and international level. The STEIGER ®, CARGOLOADER ® and FLEXILOADER ® brand names are familiar worldwide.

RUTHMANN GmbH & Co. KG was established in year 1901 and has a history of over 100 years. The permanent gearing of business to the demands of national and international customers ensures a dynamic, which requires high quality, optimal products and maximum service.

The history of the company begun with the foundation of the self-employment of Anton Ruthmann, who – together with a partner – opened a commercial company for bicycles and sewing machines in Münster (Westfalia).

After two world wars the second generation of the family took the management and presented the first HUBWAGEN® in 1949. During the years before one already worked on the development and production of sack trolleys and handcarts. HUBWAGEN® are still efficient and up-to-date transport systems.

Then in the year 1954 a real story of success was started. With the development of the first “STEIGER®”-aerial platform, which was sold to a municipal company in Duisburg, all signs were set on growth, technology and internationalization.

The first CARGOLOADER®, with an interchangeable loading area for professional container system use, was developed in 1965. Today the CARGOLOADER® (Hubwagen) exemplifies a highly efficient and modern method for goods distribution. On short to medium routes the CARGOLOADER® offers a cost cutting potential of up to 40%, compared to alternative transport systems (vehicles with the usual lift gates).

Until today the company develops, produces and sells STEIGER® and HUBWAGEN® directly to the worldwide customers, which are mainly municipalities, power supply companies, craftsman and rental companies. Driven by the demand of the market and the motivation of staff we offer – with the STEIGER TTS 1000 – from 2001 until now the worldwide most competitive access platform with a working height of 100 meters!
