“LTECH – Lifting Technology” has completed installation of Secalt permanent access system for 5-star hotel Corinthia Nevskiy Palace atrium maintenance. It was critical for the contractor to finish all works in May 2009, when opening of the hotel was planned. Engineering of the system and equipment delivering were taken in agreed terms.

Architecture of new Corinthia building in Saint Petersburg follows traditions of classical architect style of 19th century distinctive for Northern capital. Courtyard of the hotel designed as spacious glazed atrium. Permanent access system was chosen to avoid any damage of luxury hotel atmosphere, which could be caused with using of scaffoldings or access machine. System consists of monorail track, transport ladder, aluminium working cage and spare winch MINIFOR for replacement of window units.

Contractor Company ENKA arranged tender procedure to choose supplier of permanent access system. LTECH won the competition, because it guaranteed shortest terms of the projects (completed in May) and also proper follow-up of the machinery with its depot and Service center based in Saint Petersburg. Another reason was that ENKA already has positive experience of cooperation with Secalt Luxemburg directly.

Access system placed under the roof of the atrium at 30 m altitude, under the very dome. It was mounted on special decorative balconies, which are invisible for guests. Aluminium monorail tracks of 52 m total length were assembled on the balconies in parallel to each other. Transport ladder parking space hided at the back. Thank to all these features, system is absolutely invisible in parking position, therefore esthetic of the interior remains perfect.

10,5 m long aluminium platform (ladder) with ALTA L 150 suspended platform on moves using monorail tracks. Hand drive was chosen to reduce cost of the project, normally mechanical drive uses. Lifting capacity of the platform is 400 kg, platform – 240 kg, which is a specially tailored solution. Capacity is 1,5 more than generally. Platform was also equipped with additional winch MINIFOR TR 50 with 350 kg capacity to lift heavy window units.
All works – from engineering to assembling and commissioning took only 95 days and were completed in time. System provides perfect working envelope and allows non-problem window cleaning and replacement of window elements. This Secalt system was assembled to serve at least 25 years.
